I had two foster kittens last summer and later adopted two others. They had Wellness canned food (Wellness does make a 3 oz can of "kitten" food) along with the other "adult" brands I use and the raw meat diet with a supplement powder that my adult cats also eat.

I tried to give them only the Science Diet kitten food from the shelter as I didn't know what home they would be going to. They HATED it.

All four kittens are healthy and thriving at one year of age.

Tootsie is very lucky to have an owner who will give her a healthy diet.

Yes, she can eat adult Wellness. I've raised many foster kittens on adult Wellness, and they were healthy and beautiful. She may have a little trouble with the adult crunchies (dry) at first, because of the size and hardness, but as long as she's getting enough canned she'll be fine. In fact, feeding her just the canned would be better anyway.

Also, leaving dry food out all day is not good. Cats can often become overweight when free fed. As long as the cats are getting enough to eat at each meal, 2 meals a day is plenty for an adult cat; an 8 week old kitten should be offered several meals during the day but by 6 months old 2 meals a day is good.

In the wild, baby animals eat the same things as the adult animals. The necessity for different cat foods for different stages of cat life is a myth and a marketing tool.

They are basically the same. See for yourself. A few have more calories but many don't

I am basically an anti dry food person. Even the wellness has too many carbs for cats and dry food still dehydrates. I would stick with just the canned with the dry as a treat once in a while at most
 Good luck
