I have ants! Mostly in the Living room and bathroom. What is the bes tway to get rid of them?

all of a sudden ants have been appearing out of nowhere .. in the kitched living room in my daughter’s toy box the couch the ac vent and bathroom. and let me tell you all areas that have ants are clean!! where in the hell they coming from! they just came out of nowhere! wat is the best wat to get rid of them fast. anything else besides the spray since i got a lil girl in the house. and anything other then those ants traps… cause those seem to just bring more ants in and last a few days to actaully kill them

We live in a suburban area close to Seattle on a third of an acre lot. The lot is mostly cleared but surrounded by brush/forest, we have several garden areas. For the last two years I have been petrified to go out into my garden to work because it is infested with garter snakes. I’m talking one walk through the garden or grass and you will see at least 5-10. The last straw was tonight when a baby snake slithered across my living room floor where my nine month old plays every day!!
I really need solutions here. I’m willing to try to make them go away peacefully but honestly I wouldn’t mind “eliminating” the population as well. Snakes are truly my worst nightmare and seeing one in the house scared the bejeezes out of me!! HELP!
PS: I know how beneficial they can be and la-de-da but honestly I don’t care. My fear of snakes it totally petrifying and I want them gone!

I have a fake white brick fireplace in my apartment. There is no hole or chimney and no fake logs or anything. How do I decorate this to make it look nice instead of a useless eyesore on one side of the living room?
