How can I take candle wax, dried, off of my cats head?

bdtxpress asked:

I have a cat who has candle wax on its head. My wife had a stupid little potpurri pot warmer with a candle in a glass on it. Instead of the potpurri pot like it was made for, left it on melting while she was gone. I came home and it had gotten knocked over by one of the animals and one of our cats has dried candle wax on its head. I have tried dabbing with a wet wash cloth. But its like its not wet enough and he wont let me wash his head. He runs from the wash cloth. I have tried combing to but with nothing to moisten it well enough its just pulling his skin with every stroke. What can I use, or do to remove this dried up candle wax from my cats head?

How to get wax off the inside glass of a hurricane-style candle holder?

Lolly asked:

I must have used candles that were too large, the candle wax didn’t melt into the candle, but rather outside of it, forming an even wider candle, attached to the hurricane glass. I was able to lift off the glass before it cooled, but now how do I get the excess wax off the inside of the glass?

What’s the best way to get melted candle wax off a glass bowl?

WomanWhoReads asked:

I don’t want to scratch the surface, or throw it out – it was a gift from a very good friend. Would boiling water ruin the finish? I don;t think I can freeze it without cracking it. Any ideas?
