My coffee table is glass and a candle melted on it. I don’t want to use a knife to get it off because I don’t want to end up scratching it. What do I do?

I have these small drinking glasses that were just big enough to put a tealight candle at the base. They’re about 8cm -10cm high.
How can I effectively and safely clean off the candle wax? It’s settled at the bottom of the glasses but there are spots of wax all over.

We had recently experienced a power failure in the house and I quickly put 6 long candles on my long, water glasses for that case.
We had recently experienced a power failure in the house and I quickly put 6 long candles on my long, water glasses for that case.
But now the candles have melted down and the wax is stuck on them! I cannot throw them away because they are not even mine… They belong to the owner of the house.
How can I remove them? Is there any special solution I can use or the only solution is to scratch them off?

i’ve tried a basic glass cleaner, but it didn’t work. It’s a vase, and I also need to remove residual candle wax, so if you have any tips for that, I can use those, too. Thanks.
