Question by aubreyjcom: Best ways of getting rid of ants and cockroaches in an apartment complex?
My husband and I have an apartment in Hawaii. And, included with that is a huge ant and roach problem. We seem to get ants in our bathroom and roaches in our kitchen no matter how clean we keep the place.
Unfortunately, I’ve been told that it’s “part of life in Hawaii”, and I presume it’s because noone really cares to take care of the pests. The roaches are about an inch long. The ants are “ghost ants”, are very tiny, and supposedly love water (though I rarely see them near any to be honest). We can’t keep spraying RAID because by the time we’ve thoroughly stopped them, we’re getting sick from the smell, and exterminators push our wallets a little farther than they can go. What’s a good solution for at least deterring ants and roaches using our home as a pit stop between uncaring persons? There are no children to worry about in this instance – just two adults not wanting to feel like animals in a cave.

Use Raid, it smells really bad but it kills on impact when sprayed

I have discovered ticks in my room, even though I hadnt went hiking or do any outdoorsy stuff that might’ve invited ticks. I tried spraying pesticide in my room and fumigate it for a whole day. I still find one or 2 in small corners of my room while doing some cleaning yesterday. I just moved in to this apartment and none of my other roommates complained about tick bites. Did i mention that my room has no windows? ( my other roommates who also did not have windows are bites free). I have my oscillating fan on all the time. Is any effective spray that gets rid of those buggers? I am so tired of getting bitten!
I live in a apartment and i found a dog when i was walking in the complex so i kept him now i have no backyard so everyday i take him to a local park that has a wilderness reserve type thing in the back and i let him run around back there i noticed he was getting ticks probly the 4th or 5th time i took him back there i just pulled them out sence theres no backyard hes got to have free time so i really have no choice but to let him run back there til i move and iv noticed them now all over my room does anyone have any recomendations on what i can use to get rid of them in my room for good and whats the best thing to use to make my dog tick resistant you might say?
