Just don’t say “two weeks” notice. Say that you are providing notice of your upcoming resignation, but that you have not determined your last day at the company. Mention in your letter that you had already spoken with them about it and they advised that you could be flexible as to your termination date. Don’t forget to thank them for their understanding, as well as for the learning experience working for them has provided.

The two week notice is not required it is a courtesy. If they were getting rid of you, most likely you would not get notice of termination pending. I would not submit anything yet. They are likely to treat you poorly and look for reasons to terminate you.
Therefore you should hold off till you have a firm timeline for quitting.

Please accept this letter as a notification of my intention to terminate my employment with you. As agreed, my actual leaving date has not been finalised, but it will be in at least two weeks time and will therefore comploy with company policy.

I should like to thank you for your understanding in this matter, and for providing me with the experience of working with you for the last……………..weeks, months, years -whatever.

    Yours sincerely, ………………

yea i agree with that other fellow, dont give them a notice letter! unless you want to be considerate (they wont see it as considerate – no matter what they will hate ure guts so yea) or if you think if you don’t give them a notice the company/wateva it is will go bankrupt.
so when you get a confirmed date for the other job, day or 2 before your last day tell them i just got a better job offer and they want me to start after tomorrow and say i can come in tomorrow if you want, which they will reply “no dont need you to” and they will act all ghey and such. so yea! ;D
