Is there anyway to hook up a wireless router with my cable modem?

jaysun_son91 asked:

So we switched from AT&T Yahoo DSL to Roadrunner Cable. Now my wireless router in my parent’s room doesn’t work but I still have internet on my computer because that’s where the cable modem is hooked up. Is there anyway that my wireless router can still work?
Here’s what I have: at&t wireless router for DSL with ethernet cord and power chord. Roadrunner modem with cable hooked up to it, ethernet cord, and power chord. Now, is there anyway that I can get this to work?

yes , just run the cable wire into the modem then the modem wire to the router . simple as pie in that order. make sure to turn everything off and reboot everything around the same time computer being last! good luck

Yes. It’s possible that your router is configured for PPPoE… so take that off.

The easiest thing to do is to reset your router by holding a paper clip in the reset hole for about 10secs with the router on.

Then unplug the modem and router. Plug in the modem. Then plug in the router. Should work fine. Then you can log into the router and reconfigure it.

yes, just make sure that the cable you would plug into your computer is plugged into the router instead and then run a cord from the router to your computer instead of being connected to modem directly
