Go to bed the same time every night.
    Don’t watch TV in bed.
Avoid soda and chocolate after 6 PM.
Relax before getting into bed. Don’t do any exercises after 9 PM.

first, don’t watch tv before you go to bed. do something mental like reading or yoga or drawing…something where you’re brain doesn’t have to fire so hard. then try going to bed at the same time each night…and try not to make it 1:30am!!! try 10pm at the latest. it appears that your body is responding to you trying a lot of different bed times and techniques by not knowing what the hell is going on. give it a schedule to go by and keep up that schedule all the time. when i went through my insomnia phase, i also got into yoga. one of my biggest obstacles for sleep, still to this day, is calming/clearing my mind; getting my brain to shut down and stop thinking long enough for me to fall asleep. but everything runs around in there and it’s not necessarily negative. i think about what i’m wearing, who i’m going to see, what i’m going to do but usually i’m worrying about something. you’ve got to train yourself to stop it. yoga practitioners develop not just muscle control but breath control as well. it teaches you to clear your mind so you can better focus on breath and the movements but you can use this breathing/clearing the mind technique anywhere. i’ve also found it applicable for the stage when i’m nervous or i’m trying to remember something or i’m simply trying to get rid of my hiccups. i can be different for everyone, depending on what works, but usually it’s usually something simple like picturing a flower bud in your mind. but then you form details like how tall the petals are and what texture defines them; does it have thorn and what color and then you picture the flower opening. i’ve also known people to count but as your count draw the number in your imagination as defined as possible. tea has worked in the past as well; there’s actually one called sleepy time. i admire you not wanting to take drugs and i think you’re on the right path, but you’ve got to get into a routine for bedtime that is conduscive for your body and mind to relax. give yourself a few weeks for your body to acclimated to a new schedule and see if that helps. if it doesn’t, mention something to your parents…you may need to discuss this with a doctor and see if there’s a way, in his opinion, that you can overcome this without medication. good luck!

i used to have the same problem. try going to bed a little bit earlier every night. this means being ready for bed earlier each night and laying in your bed. even if you don’t fall asleep for a while, keep doing this. soon enough, you might be able to fall asleep more easily. another thing to do is read a book before bed. reading for some reason can make you more sleepy when lying down in your bed. i would never suggest to take sleeping pills, but there is a natural alternative called melatonin. it’s a hormone that the body naturally creates and some believe that when someone is deficient in this hormone, they have a hard time falling asleep. i would ask your parents about this one before you do it because it’s not proven to work.

    i hope this works!

i am your age, and am having exactly the same problem!

and the more i think oh i have to get to sleep, the harder it is!

all i can think of doing is get into bed earlier, so you have longer to try and get to sleep!

relax, and just drift away, like making up your own dreams about anything that makes you happy………………..zzzzzzzzzzzz

    good luck!

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be cured. I found the information at useful.
