New house – have cable modem and want to go all wireless. I know that I need to connect the router to the cable modem, but I’ve go like 10 ethernet cables going into my centralizzed hub (a Greyfox hub in my basement). The guy who installed my cable internet took one of the ethernet cables and plugged it into the modem, and the internet worked when I connected the hardwire ethernet cable to my laptop in the corresponding room. I have a Greyfox enclosure where all these wires are located.

You take the big fat cable and stick it in the big fat hole and viola!
which cable you use depends on your setup. You haven’t given enough information, contact your manufacturer.
If you still know which cable was plugged into your computer locate it. Then figure out your wireless network settings in the wireless config part of the control panel. Do you have a wireless card installed, and a wireless router. If don’t you are out of luck but if you do you should be able to see the technical information on your wireless device in the system part of control panel. Then look at your network settings and see if networks are registering. If so choose one and click connect. Your last resort if that does not work is either call the guy that installed the system and ask him for help or call the owners of the devices that you are trying to use.
