Anna M asked:
I need to get it off. He walks with a limp. I got him at Lees Feeds and they put wire bracelets around the legs to identify males from females. The bracelet is becoming embedded and his foot is 3x as big as normal. HELP!

Poor thing, get him to a vet
aww poor little duckling..
take him to the vet pronto
u need to take the bird to the vet ASAP
Take him to a vet.. they’ll get it off for you.
get him to a vet if it is so imbedded that you can’t get the band off safely.
try cutting it off gently with special plyers then take him to the vet.
quit wasting time here and get him to a vet stat!!!!!!!! the wire is cutting off circulation and he could lose it.
you need to take him to the vet or he could get serious problems and all sorts of things could happen to him. If you dont take him to the vet right now it will get completely embedded in his foot and he will need surgery to get it removed.
wire cutter at hardware store. Less then 10 bucks.
Or take it back to pet store and DEMAND they take it off.
Don’t try yourself, you might hurt it! take it to a vet, or you could take it to the store you got it from, maybe they could get it off for you. poor little ducky, i hope you get it off him/her!
love and hugs to you n ur ducky, bye!!
Take the duck to a certified avian vet to have the leg band removed. They have special tools they use, so they do not break or damage the leg. If the band is embedded in the duck’s leg, and the foot is swollen, the bird will also need antibiotics and possibly anti-inflamatories. Do it NOW, or the duck could end up losing his leg.
Poor ducky,
Get it to the vet pronto. If you don’t hurry it might be to late.
P.S. How many people telling you that you need to take it to the vet will it take before you do?
it is preety simple, take some wire cutting pliers and cut it of,be very careful not to injure the duck, after you get it off wrap the leg and put some neosporin on the leg so it wont cath an infection
GO TO A VET!!!! it will continue to grow like it is now. if you don’t get to a vet it may become infected and that is not good. do not try it youself. please go to a vet
i hope he is fine, now!
where did you get him? I just lost my pet duck and i am very sad!
