I rent the main floor of a house, my landlord lives in the basement, last week I noticed she had a few ants in her part of the house, last night i saw some on my porch and now they are in my kitchen and there seems to be more every hour! I need an affective way to get rid of them but I am 36 weeks pregnant and I am scared to use any kind of chemicals in the house. Also, how do I tell my landlord that she needs to get rid of the ants from her part of the house without sounding like a b****, she is not that clean of a person and although I don’t agree with the way she lives, I don’t want to offend her.

I’ve heard that you can pour ordinary dish soap like Dawn mixed with water on them and they hate it. I would not use any chemicals.. and that is probably what the landlord would do.
One thing that is reassuring…. ants, while they are a pain, do not carry germs.
sprinkling salt around edges of outside doors worked for me.try salt around edges ofcounters also
you need to call an exterminator to come out and handle it for you so that you do not have to be around the chemicals and the chemicals that they use do not contain enough chemical to hurt a person so there is nothing that you should worry about as long as a professional does it and you just need to ask her if she would be willing to pay for half of the bill so that you guys can get rid of the ants that are in the house
