Try cornmeal, sprinkle it in the areas you find them in, it won’t hurt your pets or kids and it works great (the ants can’t digest the cornmeal and they take it back to their nests, eat it and die).

wash them with vinegar. there is a trap you can buy. oh i can`t remember the name of it but you put this liquid on a piece of card board and they eat it within a day or so they are gone. Washing the counters with vinegar really helps to.

Hi, go to the hardware store and ask them for a product called Chinese Chalk. It looks like chalk but it has a chemical in it that they do not like. You take it and just draw a line where they are coming in from, they will stop coming in. Ants are either looking for water, sugar, but some ants like meat also.

Okay, I have tried all of these other answers before living in Florida and NONE of the home remedies worked!
However, I finally gave up and called an exterminator and that worked! It only cost me $14 and they came out and found the colony, sprayed them and no more ants. I had those little black kitchen ants or “sugar ants” because they get into ANYTHING in the kitchen (flour, sugar, oil, pasta- anything). Come to find out they were living in a post OUTSIDE that supported the roof of our porch and were trailing up to the roof, over and down into my kitchen cabinets. I know how you feel, it was so frustrating to try everything only to watch them march across the ceiling and then the counters and then the walls. Nothing I did helped. Not traps, concoctions, sprays, or cleaners. And because they found the tiniest bit of crumbs not even locking up all food in air tight containers worked. They just moved to my trash! Call an bug man he’ll nip their little butts and usually guarantee the work.
