Need HELP getting rid of ants?

get rid of ants
Scooter Mcnutty asked:

Can any one tell me how to get rid of house ants? I have tried vinegar & torro ant killer, but they haven’t seemed to work. I need something save to use around small kids.
The exterminators we have in our area are not very helpful.

How to do

Boric acid. It’s sweet flavor attracts ants and kills them quite effectively. It is not safe for pets in large doses, so try to put it in areas and cracks that they can not easily gain access to.

You should be able to buy it at any hardware store.

i’d say to remove everything in the house where they’re at and coming from…and start over after cleaning every part and filling up any holes

Black pepper is a nonlethal, poison free, cheap, and safe way to get rid of ants – sprinkle the black pepper where you see them congregating and watch ‘them scatter. Follow them to where they’re exiting – which is the same spot they’re entering in at – and sprinkle the pepper at that spot to keep them from coming back in. It’s safe to use in your cabinets, on windowsills, near your pets and kids, around food, etc.

cinnamon…sprinkle it around and all over….it gets under their exoskeleton and is an irritant…they don’t like it and they go away…

we used this in the nursing home…
