Mike W asked:

I get painful canker sores in my mouth whenever i have a cold and am stressed out.

I now have a really painful sore under my tongue kinda.

I had it for about 3 days, I’ve been sleeping a lot and using Biotene mouthwash to help get rid of it….

What else can i do?

There is an over the counter remedy called Amosan, it is a mouthwash and it helps. I usually do not bother with buying Amosan though, I just get a finger and wet the tip of it and dip it in baking soda and place it directly on the canker sore and it usually is gone within 24 hours. Do not overdo the baking soda as it can change the acidity of your blood from acid to alkaline and you don’t want to do that, it can seriously harm you. If however you use just a little bit on one or two spots, it works and it is safe. You normally get baking soda in your diet when you eat bakery items, but in small amounts, so don’t be too afraid.

Go to the health food store and buy Lysine, it’s an amino acid. Your pain will be diminished in a few hours. Healing begins right away.
Use as directed however, more is not faster healing that I am aware of.

go to your local pharmacy, and ask for Gentian Violet either 1% or 2%, it is AMAZING. i tried it, and my canker sore was gone the next day.

it is hard to find, and most places won’t have it.
you should know though, it does stain the area purple, and usually lasts one or two days.
