How to get rid of ants in my room?

get rid of ants
Guy asked:

I need an easy and cheap way to get rid of ants. I can’t even put my feet on the ground where my computer is without getting bit. I have carpet here so it would be easier if it was something I could vacuum up to clean it up. Thank you.

How to do.

either you can try killing the ants manually, use a vacuum cleaner to suck them up or perhaps you can try poison. go to walmart and take a look at what they have.

You can get ant powder that you place on your carpet and along the walls. But you’ll need to leave it there to kill them.
Barring that, a spray works best.

I’d get an exterminator if I were you…..

Spray the basebords and doorways with a bleach mix (2parts bleach and 8parts water). And wipe down…it’s best to also clean other areas exposed to food with the same solution. Ants cant pick up on the smell of food and the bleach will be overpowering to them.

kill one and hang its head on the wall…..this should teach
the other ants what would happen to them

Try sprinkling salt around the perimeter of the outside of your house/basement where they are coming from

This is a very old trick : but if you sprinkle pepper near the outside of every way into the house they will stay away

Make sure you vacuum a lot and make there are no ant trails where they can follow their leader to the food if you know what I mean.

Keep your room cleanner and pick up your clothes. And of course put out antkiller cannisters. It might be helpfull to check outside your room to see if in the garden there is flowers that are drawing the ants to your place, like peonnies. There is antkiller powder and we use to poor boiling water down the cracks in the cement where the ants came up from.

Try “Terro”, an ant bait/killer. It costs about $5 at Walmart. It is a liquid that you put on small squares of thin cardboard paper. Place the pieces of cardboard where you see the most ants. Within 24 hours, they will find this stuff which is like sugar to them. For a few hours, you will see ants coming and going to the droplets of Terro. They take this stuff back to the nest and then they die. Once the ants are feasting on the Terro, check every couple of hours to make sure there is a couple drops on the paper. Within 36 hours the ants should be gone.
