You can get seven dust or Lime at any lowes or home improvement stores, and at walmart. They both work great. Lime will not harm you pets. Just don’t let them eat it. It will also kill grubs. and many other pests

    Try using boric acid

Boric acid is poisonous and could kill your dog. You should give your dog revolution. I give it to my dog and it keeps fleas and ticks off and also prevents mange. We use a fertilizer on the grass that kills bugs. I have to keep my dog off it for a day but he doesn’t have problems with ticks anymore. My back yard is the forest preserve and there are a lot of ticks and deer. He had ticks for a few years but the revolution killed them. You need a prescription.

You should contact a gardening expert from your local gardening center, or an exterminator who knows how to handle this without filling up your yard with dangerous pesticides. You should be concerned for yourself as well as your dog, since ticks are known for causing Lyme disease in humans. It can be a very debilitating illness.

well if u have dogs or kids theres really no way but if u dont then theres alway poisons and u dont have to wash them my dog gets ticks just use tweezers and pull them off as u see them and there is this stuff that we put on my dog that comes in a little tube that u just squeeze out along his back that keeps ticks fleas mosquitos and other bugs too

none of these things will help, guys.

Ticks can be killed off in the yard by applying Merit, or diazinon, but you must wait about two weeks for it to work itself in before it is not poisonous to the animals. It also won’t work in the winter, and I **** to say it, but I have seen them marching over the snow. No kidding.

Much better approach, whether or not you are going to use the Merit, is to put a Preventic collar on the dog. It contains a minute amount of a substance that will kill the ticks, and works for three months. They only cost about 10 bucks, and are the most effective thing, unless you apply Frontline on the dog every three weeks or so. They can be used together, and won’t do anything bad, unless you’re a tick. But do go for the preventic collar, it is the only one that contains the right thing to get rid of the ticks.

I use small plastic zip ties to keep the preventic collar tucked under the dogs regular collar, so you don’t pat the tick collar.

Mice are the ones who bring ticks out onto the lawn from the underbrush. You can also buy Daminix tubes for about $20 a package that are like toilet paper tubes. They contain a wad of cotton inside that ‘topspot’ the mice, killing the ticks before they can take a ride to your house…

We had the same problem you have a few months ago. The ticks came from rats and mice that were invading the neighborhood due to the excavating of near by land. We couldn’t get rid of the ticks. We called a Pest Control company that specialized in that problem because all the other things didn’t work. You have to get rid of the ticks, the rats and mice. We also had to take our dogs to the vet to get tick prevention collars because the stuff over the counter didn’t work. Ticks can cause Lime disease that will debilitate you and your kids. Please do not wait, you need to do something about it right away. The vet told us not to use the tweezers because the body of the tick might get separated from the head of the tick. When you go to the vet he will give you a 1/4 table spoon that has a triangle like cut off the side. The vet will teach you how to get the ticks out of your dogs. It is much easier to use this than anything else to remove the ticks from your dogs skin.
