Esthon asked:
There is a colony of ants in my guava tree and they’re crawling along the clothes line. They are bigger than the common ant, are yellow and have long legs. I tried both the insecticide chalk (it worked with the smaller ants) and spray but it didn’t work. How can I get rid of those ants the natural way?
How to do.

sprinkle salt on them. think it will work
buy a box of grits and pour it on their colony- they will take it into their nest, consume it and I don’t know how or why , but it kills them- my mother in law used to get monster ant mounds in her yard- we poured boiling water on them but they would always pop up elsewhere in the yard- we started using the grits and the piles would pop up less and less often until thy just were not there anymore
Natural way? You mean like crushing them underfoot?
Spraying a solution of dishwashing detergent like Dawn or Joy kills aphids. Maybe it works for ants.
But ask a trustworthy gardner before risking the health of a tree or other plant.
Or maybe ‘natural’, technically, doesn’t include detergents.
Good luck. I suppose ants are a necessary evil but I despise the little bastards, anyway.
Hi Esthon,
I’d that problem before in my backyard, and I kill them with a Glass of pure chlorine. The one that its used for the washing machine. It sounds kinda odd, but thank Godness there’s no more colonies :>
It works, go try it out! If you’ve kids… Warn them about doing this… to avoid get near or playing near of the chlorine.
Good luck!

I’ve heard they hate pepper. Tobaco is also a natural pesticide, as for it’s killing record I think you already know that.
i have used a real fine ground up sea shells it works very well
Try mixing borax with icing sugar and place in a tray under something to keep it dry
