Get it around the base of the foundation. Do it inside and outside. Inside, there are various non staining products that you spray on the base boards and on the floor, so go around the house spraying that. Ants are insects, insects lick their feet, so all the ant has to do is to step into the now dry area and will die shortly after licking their feet. You can get it on the carpets, floors, flooring, baseboards, and wall - I would direct the spray so that it covers the baseboard, a little of the walls, and about 6 inches onto the carpet. READ THE LABELS.
