Call an exterminator. Or get those ant traps.

You need to bomb your apartment with bug balm. Then after that make sure that you leave no food out at all. Do all your dishes right away.

Keep place clean. Leave no food out.
Spray the baseboards with ant Raid.
Use those ant traps. I use ‘em for black ants & it works.

And if they’re coming from another apartment…well.

Buy one of those bags of ant killer and put it around the outside of the apartment and the inside where they are and clear out all your old food.

Ant spray or baits work well. I didn’t want the poision stuff in my kitchen and wiped down all surfaces with a vinegar/water solution about 50/50.

I’ve also used boric acid powder. Ants, roaches, crickets, ect will not cross the line where it is as it will burn them. I bought a small container of it and the spout was similar to a tube of caulking where you cut off at an angle and drizzle the powder, in my case, a line about an 1/8 inch width. That worked best.

    Ants HATE Cinnamon.

If you don’t have any pets that can sniff it up, i would try sprinkling that one the edges of where they are coming from.

An exterminator will do, but they are expensive…. I would suggest ant poison (if you have any kids).
I don’t remember the name of the product I used but it is a clear liquid, and you put a little out were you see ants. The ants go crazy over it!!!! Then they carry the stuff back to their nest. I will kill all of the ants! Good Luck!

I understand that if you draw a 1 inch thick chalk line the ants will not cross it

Evict them. Or have them start paying 1/2 the rent.

I did home support for some years and many of my elderly clients used dried bayleaves around the baseboards, seemed to work! But the other posts were right about getting some sort of pest control involved, this sounds pretty serious!

diatomaceous earth stuffed into the cracks where they are entering, cucumber slices, cinnamon oil….

there are tons of non-toxic ways to get them out of your place, but you have to make certain all the food is cleaned up so they don’t return.

below is a whole list of natural solutions for ant control…
