Getting rid of ants – home remedy?

get rid of ants
tweekerkitty asked:

Does anyone have a solution for getting rid of ants? I’ve tried several chemicals, ant traps, the whole deal. My kitchen is spotless and all the food is in plastic containers – yet they still keep coming! Please help!
Thanks!

Cucumber peels. Put them somewhere in your kitchen and the for some reason the ants don’t like them. Also, I use this stuff, you can get it at walmart, called Terro Ant Killer, works like magic. You just put a few drops on a piece of cardboard and that’s it. It has always worked for me

If you know where they are coming in from get some chalk you know the stuff they use on blackboards it doesn;t matter what colour. Try toy stores they usually sell it as sidewalk
chalk for kids. Find the entrance and then draw a thick line of chalk around it. Ants hate chalk and will not cross it. I am
serious! The trick is finding how they are getting in. I am surprised that ant traps didn’t work for you. Did you use more than one? It worked for my friend and she had tons of them and never did find out where they came from. Good luck!

Ants hate Peppermint Oil, if you can find where they are coming in your home put some drops there.

You can also put some in a spray bottle shake it up, and spray the area. If you want to get fancy you can get an emulsifier to blend the oil and water. But it really isn’t essential.

I have to spray for a few days then they are gone for about about ever year and a half. You can find peppermint oil at most health food stores or online.

It’s inexpensive, not harmful, and it works!
    Good luck!

Baby powder.. Safe for kids and pets.. It will not kill the ants but will stop them coming inside if you sprinkle the baby powder at the windows and door ways.
