Conjunctivitis is an eye ailment characterized by soreness and redness of an eye or both eyes in a person. The inflammation occurs in the clear covering that coats or protects the white portion of the eye.
Conjunctivitis also affects the lines which are inside the eye lids. This infection of the eye sometimes quickly manifest, but it may be a consolation that the duration of the infection would only last for just a short period of time.
Conjunctivitis, or more popularly known as pink eye, is not curable, only treatable. That means, even without medication the infection would subside.
The body will mostly do its work in curtailing this eye ailment. It should be noted, however, that people with conjunctivitis should seek immediate medical help to ease and relieve the discomfort that will surely arise from its onset.
Otherwise, further infection or complication might surface, making the infection more painful and more discomforting.
Causes of conjunctivitis
Doctors and medical professionals cite three causes for the onset of conjunctivitis. One, the infection would be viral or caused by virus. Second, conjunctivitis can be caused by allergic reactions to substances, called allergens, that cause adverse reactions from the body’s protective immune system.
Lastly, conjunctivitis can be bacterial in nature. Conjunctivitis caused by bacteria are the fastest- healing. Such kind of conjunctivitis will also tend to become less distracting.
Other than three mentioned, experts attribute conjunctivitis to other causes that may include vitamin deficiency, allergy to chicken meat, contact lens overuse, chemical contacts, intrusion of foreign substances into the eye and ultraviolet or thermal burns.
Treating conjunctivitis or pink eye
The usual home remedy advised to patients or victims of conjunctivitis may be somehow discomforting and scary. But the thing is, although medical and modern science fail to provide specific and exact reason for it, is surprisingly effective.
Adhering to simple home remedies, the conjunctivitis victim is advised to put a mild slat solution into the infected eye. If it will be uncomfortable and too painful, opening the eyes in a small tub containing a little pinch of salt in it would be an alternative measure.
Upon doing so, be sure to wash your hands after. That is because conjunctivitis is spread and communicated through touching things that may also be touched by other people, especially your housemates and loved ones.
It would be imperative to consult or seek help from the doctor to determine or pinpoint the cause of the infection.
Conjunctivitis caused by bacteria can be relived by antibiotic eye ointments or eye drops. If the cause is viral or allergens, then the infection would not be immediately relived, but the doctor can try to prescribe other practical medications to soothe out.
Conjunctivitis caused by allergens or allergy-causing substances could also be relived by taking in antihistamines, which is the usual and most common drug prescribed to people with asthma and other allergies.
Conjunctivitis Prevention
It is observed that people are more prone to the eye infection immediately after recovering from colds. Remember that conjunctivitis is contagious, and you should be responsible to give out your share in curtailing the infection’s spread.
Always wash your hands and avoid making physical contacts with objects that may be in constant physical contact with other people.

We have an older farmhouse, basement is faced off with cement. Snakes still get in the basement and occasionally into the first floor. Very annoying, especially for my wife.

My name is **** and I am writing to ask you to appeal my suspension of financial aid. The fall 05 and spring 08 semesters were a very stressful and overwhelming time in my life because I was pregnant without health insurance. However, I was hired Wynn Las Vegas Hotel by good luck and decided to drop all classes because I could get an insurance as an employee benefit. So, I couldn’t fulfill the financial aid requirement and my status of financial aid was suspended. I also couldn’t come back school because I needed to take care of my new born baby and work a full-time job. By the time when I decided to come back, it was spring 08 and still my status was suspended so, I had to pay all tuition without FAFSA assistance. To make matters worse, I got divorced at that time and needed to go back to work again. That’s why I had to drop the classes on spring 08. It was very difficult for me to concentrate and do well in my classes when I had to put my family ahead of myself. I strived to fulfill lacking units during summer 08 and I couldn’t afford to pay all.
Currently, my parents moved to here Las Vegas and my mother is taking care of my baby. I talked to my parents that I could promise I will graduate and get a better job within 3 years if they take care of my baby till I finish my school. Now, I’m working as a part-time for living cost and giving full attention in school work. I still need to fulfill 5 units to release my suspended status but, if I go back to work for tuition, it’s obvious I cannot concentrate on school. Please take this letter into consideration and give me another chance to start new life.

Well I tried the owl decoy sevral months ago. It worked for a week then the pigeons started nesting again. They even started poopong on the owl! That was hilarious. I am out of ideas!

Our dog found a snake about 8 inches long and killed it. But is it true that where one is there is more? What do we do to keep them out of our yard?

Ok, it’s a long one. I met this girl a year ago during our college orientation. First day during lunch i sit in a table with random people, and she was there. We both turned towards each other and introduced ourselves. I asked her for her number that night to keep in touch and she gave it. We texted and talked those three days we were there. The school year started and she was really sweet. One time when i was super sicked she offered to come over and make me some soup.
The thing is that i never made a move because i thought she was being a really good friend, being that i had never met anyone like her. I found out she had a boyfriend but we were still good friends. I felt that she was into me but for some reason never made a move. Second semester comes, and i we have a class together. We sit together the entire semester, but everytime i would talk to her i would freeze and make a fool out of myself. Nothing happened with her. She broke up with her guy twice and never made a move. This summer she left to Wyoming for a summer job, but i was too chicken to even give her a call, Every time we talk though, we have so much in common.
School starts in two days, and we haven’t talked since May. At the time that i met her, i had lots of problems at home. To me, she was a sign that i should do every thing in my power to leave home into this new city. Now i think of her everyday, but like i said we rarely talk and who knows what she does or if she talks to someone.
Back when we had class i had confessed my feelings, but she was in a relations still. She just said that she was very happy that i was honest with her.
I don’t think i can give her a call, don’t know why.
Should i send her a message on facebook or somewhere, just explaining my feelings and how much she has changed my life, hoping that gives me another chance with her. Or should i just let her go?
School has started and we haven’t talked to each other. I feel too nervous to even send a text message. Should i just forget about her?
