I heated silverplate flatware with a propane torch in order to bend for bracelets and other jewelry. I did it in darkness and only to a cherry red color. After bending I used a steel wire wheel on my Dremel to shine back from it discolored. I was unsuccessful to bring a silver color back and a pewter/black color remains. Did I heat it too much or what? I tried not heating it but was difficult to bend. Any advice?

There are stains on my apartment bathroom counter top, and I don’t know how to remove it. I am going to move out soon, and I have tried alot of things to get rid of them. I know that the cause is hair dye. I am thinking of over painting it, but I’m not too sure about that. Is there any way to get rid of the stains with our ruining the paint.

Knowledge can replace concern. The more we know about how things work, the less worried we are about how they can affect us. Oftentimes, we discover that things are much less harmful than we thought they were. Illnesses provide such a case. The more we know about how to diagnose, treat, and prevent a certain illness, the more peace-of-mind we have about it. For instance, ere are some vital questions and answers about the bacteria MRSA:
1. What is MRSA?
MRSA has a long name: methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus. However, the public more commonly refers to it as staph bacteria, MRSA, or the superbug. At any given time, various staph bacteria exist on the skin and in the noses of about a quarter of the world’s population. MRSA is quite harmless when we are healthy. However, it can become a threat to our well being, when we are exhausted, injured, or have recently undergone an operation. When MRSA enters our bodies, we must receive medicine to kill the bacteria.
2. How do doctors diagnose MRSA?
The process is quite basic. Doctors remove a sample of bacteria from a patient, and then grow it in a laboratory culture. The sample can originate from a variety of sources, including the nose, blood, or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Cerebrospinal fluid is contained in a person’s backbone and brain, and provides shock absorption. It is important that doctors adhere to this process, to verify that the bacteria are indeed MRSA.
3. How do doctors treat MRSA?
Various factors determine the particular treatment that physicians use, to treat any type of staph infection. Factors include:
• The location of the infection
• How serious the illness has become
• How sensitive the infection is to antibiotics
Large groups of bacteria on the skin or in the nose, and swelling, are usually not indicators that antibiotics are necessary. In the case that antibiotics are indeed necessary, the number of antibiotics that are effective in treating MRSA, are quite limited. MRSA is resistant to several types of antibiotics, including penicillin and all drugs that resemble penicillin.
4. How can medical personnel help to prevent MRSA infections?
In a word, keep people and areas hygienic. It is important for all personnel and patients to wash their hands using soap and water, until they have completed singing the “ABC Song.” Staff at clinics and hospitals can also wear hygienic clothing, such as scrubs. Studies have revealed that wearing scrubs, such as cheap landau scrubs, can significantly reduce the transmission of MRSA. The public can also take certain measures, such as:
• engaging in proper hand-washing
• not sharing towels and athletic equipment during their workouts.
• keeping wounds clean and bandaged
• avoiding contact with the wounds of other people
MRSA can be devastating to patients, and challenging for medical staff. However, we can successfully use certain proven methods to diagnose, treat, and prevent it. Following the aforementioned guidelines, such as requiring medical personnel to wear hygienic scrubs, can help to keep the “superbug” MRSA, super-contained.

Groshan Fabiola asked:
The most common causes of the sore throat are the bacteria. The streptococcus is mostly responsible for producing infections in the throat and this is why the sore throat produced by this kind of bacterium is known as strep throat. The most affected ones by streptococcus are the children but adults can also develop strep throat. In order to treat strep throat doctors prescribe oral antibiotics.
People who have strep throat also have sore throat, fever, sometimes headaches, stomachaches, body rash and swollen glands.
In order to see whether the sore throat is caused by a bacterium or a virus the doctor will swab the back of the throat and send the sample for tests. The results of the analyze will also guide the doctor in establishing a proper treatment.
Strep throat must be treated properly because it can affect other organs if streptococcus survives: it can give rheumatic fever, heart problems and renal destructions. The mostly used antibiotics in the case of the strep throat are: Penicillins, Macrolides, and Cephalosporins. If the infection continues to appear several times a year the tonsils need to be removed as they can shed the streptococcus and that is why recurrences can not be stopped.
Strep throat is a contagious disease especially among children and that is why a sick child must be kept away from other children until his fever disappears of until 24 hours since the antibiotic treatment begun. The bacterium can spread towards others by coughing, sneezing, shouting or using the same objects and then not washing the hands.
In order to relive the pain caused by such an infection acetaminophen and ibuprofen can be associated to the antibiotic treatment.
Many people do not feel the presence of the bacterium as others do (fever, sore throat and swollen neck glands). This means that they are only carriers, that they shed the bacterium in their throats.
In order to prevent strep throat parents must wash their hands before eating and preparing food, after blowing the nose, sneezing or coughing, after shaking hands with other sick people, must cover their mouth if they sneeze or cough, and must go to the doctor if they feel they have a problem with the throat.
The treatment is recommended to be followed for ten days but studies have proven that a shorter period of treatment can kill the streptococci from the throat too. There are two antibiotics which must never be used in attempting to treat strep throat as they are not effective on streptococcus group A: tetracyclines and sulfonamides.
You can find great content regarding strep throat in adults, strep throat symptoms, home remedy for strep throat and many more strep throat related issues.

I’m getting X-box Live and my room is on the other end of the house from the computer. We have Charter Hi-Speed internet and apparently we have a cable U.S.B modem. I’m not very smart when it comes to these things, and I was wondering: Can I hook up a wireless router to my cable modem, and a wireless receiver to my X-box? Or do I have to use a REALLY long ethernet cable?
Okay I’m sorry I told you I’m really dumb when it comes to this kind of thing! Hahahha. Well we brought this tiny tv into my computer room and hooked up the ethernet cable to my xbox and my xbox to my tv, and it worked fine, so I guess I have an ethernet thing on my modem. Will a wireless router work with that?
